Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich visited the Vitebsk State Technical College
College Director Alexander Losyakin conducted an informative tour of the college's academic buildings and educational and production workshops. They also visited the "Construction Technologies" resource center, which was opened in December 2019 and became the first in the Vitebsk region. Here, students not only from the college but also from specialized educational institutions of the northern region improve their professional skills. In addition, this platform serves as a base for professional development and internships for pedagogical staff and workers, and masters of construction organizations.
According to Elena Erashenko, head of the resource center, the college staff and students renovated a two-story building with an area of over 2500 sq. m. Over 850 thousand rubles were spent on repairs and equipping it with the latest high-tech equipment.
Anatoly Linevich also visited the dormitory, which was commissioned in 2020 after major repairs. Engineering communications have been completely replaced, and furniture has been purchased.
At a meeting with the college's active members and students, the Presidential Aide noted that he would like the conversation to be structured as a dialogue. The questions were diverse. They concerned the exchange of experience with foreign students, work in student labor groups, service in the Armed Forces in a specialty obtained at the college, and free travel for students. Anatoly Konstantinovich assured that all issues would be studied, and regarding the latter, he said the following:
– We should not turn the country into a country of beneficiaries. A schoolchild is not ready to pay for a ticket himself. Students receive scholarships, they develop a sense of responsibility, and they come to understand that nothing in life is free. But we will study this issue. It is possible to solve the problem by purchasing a couple of buses to transport students from the dormitory to the academic building.
As for distance learning, the Presidential Aide has a 50/50 attitude towards it. Some subjects and fields can be studied in this way.
– But, of course, a student cannot lay brickwork remotely, – noted Anatoly Linevich. – There is knowledge and skills of teachers that must be passed through the heart. The specialist's training level will depend on this.
The President's Aide also touched upon the topic related to the participation of youth in unauthorized events.
– What else does youth need to channel their energy and temperament in the right direction? – Anatoly Linevich wondered. – While personality is being formed, it is necessary to listen to wise parents and teachers. We live in a beautiful independent country. When traveling far beyond the borders of the Motherland, one wants to return home as soon as possible. A person is always drawn to where they were born, where they were raised. After all, childhood, the place where it was spent, is remembered most in life.
Expressing words of gratitude to Alexander Losyakin for his work at the college, the President's Aide emphasized that when people do something good, they leave a good mark in life, and their authority is very high.
The college has full-time, evening, and distance learning departments. About 2000 students are enrolled in 41 specialties and professions.
