Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Vitaly Vovk held a reception of citizens in the Shumilino District
For example, young parents from the village of Yazvino, located a few kilometers from the district center, are concerned about rumors of the closure of the nursery-garden in their settlement. The Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Oleg Bykov, assured that the financing of the educational institution is planned until the end of the year, and there are no talks about closing the kindergarten at the present time.
As explained by the Head of the Education Department of the District Executive Committee, Valentina Menkova, this kindergarten is regularly attended by 3-5 children. For the institution to function stably, it should be attended by 10-12 pupils. This will be explained to the villagers at a meeting in the near future.
Residents of house No. 62 on Sipko Street in the district center came to the reception with a collective appeal. Their house has been declared dilapidated, and in connection with this, all residents have been warned about the need to move to a dormitory or other temporary housing. They fear that this temporary housing will become permanent for them, and they will not see apartments in the new house, which will be built next summer. The district leadership managed to convince them otherwise, and the people agreed to leave the dilapidated housing.
– In order not to lose the population's trust, local authorities must always keep their promises, – summarized the President's Assistant. – Any leader must keep their word. This is especially evident if it is the officials who do not fulfill their obligations. And people see this. Then faith in power is lost. And this cannot be allowed.
Vitaly Vovk positively assessed the work of the authorities in the Shumilino district, noting that much is being done here, including landscaping, and the district center looks attractive.
