A pontoon bridge across the Daugava will connect the two parts of Beshenkovichi
A free boat ride across the Western Dvina is available in Beshenkovichi. However, for local residents, this is more of a routine than entertainment. The absence of a permanent bridge complicates travel to the opposite bank.
In winter, the population crosses on the ice, and during the season, the housing and communal services organize a boat crossing. This year, more than 200 people use the services of boatmen daily. Four passengers can be transported at a time. A life jacket is provided for each.
From April 10, crossing the Dvina will be comfortable: a pontoon road bridge 184 meters long will be opened. It is being built by military railway workers of the transport support department of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
