Hit the Top Ten: Vitebsk Region Enterprises Among the Most Profitable Belarusian Joint-Stock Companies
«Naftan», Vitebsk Poultry Farm and «Vesta» became leaders in net profit volume in 2014 among OJSCs operating in the Vitebsk region. Judging by the data of the Ministry of Finance published the other day, the symbolic top–10 most profitable joint-stock companies were updated by almost half, and in terms of net profit growth rate, «Ganna» surpassed everyone – over 283 thousand percent!
The first place in the ranking remains unchanged for «Naftan», which in 2014 worked with a result of almost 2 trillion rubles, which is 56% higher than the figure for 2013.
Vitebsk Poultry Farm rose to second place, receiving a net profit of more than 150 billion rubles. Against the backdrop of a modest 53 million rubles in 2013, last year's result of «Ganna» cannot but command respect.
The poultry farm pushed "Vesta" into third place. This joint-stock company remains, perhaps, the only regional retailer that successfully competes with national retail chains that continue to expand in the local market. "Vesta" completed the year with a net profit of almost 82 billion rubles, with a growth rate of about 126%.
The top ten most profitable joint-stock companies included "Polotsktransneft Druzhba" with a figure of 49.5 billion rubles, "Krasny Oktyabr" (37.2 billion), and these enterprises are the only ones among the top 10 that reduced net profit compared to 2013. They were followed by "Keramika" (30.3 billion), "Polotsk-Steklotkany" (about 26 billion), "Vitebskhlebprom" (almost 25.6 billion), "Vitebsk Radio Components Plant "Monolit"" (about 23.3 billion), "Display" Design Bureau (almost 21 billion).
