The procedure for entering Russia by private car has changed
February 25, Moscow / Eduard Pivovar – BELTA/. The procedure for entering Russia by private car has changed from today: the corresponding decree of the Russian government has entered into force, the Federal Customs Service informed a BELTA correspondent.
Now, to confirm the legality of the stay of temporarily imported vehicles in Russia, it will be sufficient to fill out only a passenger customs declaration. The оформление удостоверения ввоза транспортного средства ( оформление удостоверения ввоза транспортного средства) has been canceled. Accordingly, Russian customs authorities are relieved of the obligation to register vehicles registered in other countries and temporarily located in Russia.
The period of temporary stay of vehicles in Russia remains the same: foreign citizens can import their vehicles without paying customs duties and taxes for no more than one year.
Apparently, this procedure for entering Russia by private car will also apply to Belarusian citizens for some time. On the eve of the new rules coming into force, representatives of the Russian customs stated that Belarusians would be able to enter from February 25 without filling out a passenger customs declaration. The calculation was based on the fact that the parties would manage to sign a Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on the temporary import and export of vehicles. However, the agreement has not yet been signed: it is still undergoing coordination procedures. -0-
