After the modernization is completed, the Orsha Flax Mill will need more high-quality raw materials - Leonid Anfimov

The success of the modernized Orsha Flax Mill will directly depend on the quality of raw materials. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Control Committee, Leonid Anfimova, who participated in the meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee today.

The meeting discussed the prospects for the development of the region's flax industry. The discussion focused on existing problems and possible solutions. One of the main tasks is to improve the quality of raw materials supplied to the Orsha Flax Mill. "After the modernization is completed, the mill will require a large amount of high-quality flax fiber. Therefore, the success of the enterprise will primarily depend on the efficiency of the entire flax industry. Unfortunately, flax mills currently produce fiber of not the highest quality. The updated Orsha Flax Mill will not be able to operate efficiently on such raw materials," noted Leonid Anfimova.

He emphasized that improving the efficiency of the flax industry is a task not only for regional authorities. All stakeholders, from flax-sowing enterprises to republican state administration bodies, must address these issues. "The problems that exist in flax cultivation in the Vitebsk region are inherent in all regions of the country. And if we do not pay attention to these issues at the republican level, the problem will not be solved on its own," added the head of the control department.

At the same time, Leonid Anfimova noted that many problematic issues fall within the direct responsibility of district leaders and specific flax-sowing organizations. This includes allocating land suitable for flax cultivation and its preliminary preparation (which has its own specifics), and meticulous adherence to agrotechnical requirements at all stages of cultivation and harvesting of the fiber crop. "If the technology is not followed, then no matter what decisions we make, no matter how technically equipped the enterprises are, we will still not get high-quality fiber, and therefore, we will not ensure the efficient operation of the Orsha Flax Mill," is convinced the Chairman of the SCC.
