The last bell will ring for 18,000 graduates of schools in the Vitebsk region on May 30

The last bell, marking the end of the 2012/2013 academic year, will ring in the schools of the Vitebsk region on May 30, Ivan Shchurok, head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent.

Solemn ceremonies on this day will become a significant event in the lives of 18,232 graduates of the region's schools. On this day, with special trepidation, a slight sadness, and anticipation of a new stage in their lives, they will listen to the parting words of teachers and parents, and will also express words of gratitude to the educators who have generously shared their knowledge with them all these years. About 7.4 thousand of these students will be awarded diplomas for secondary education, and 10,653 teenagers will receive a corresponding document for basic education.

Schoolchildren in Polotsk will attend festive ceremonies dedicated to the end of the academic year on May 31. This event is timed to coincide with the city's celebration of City Day, Ivan Shchurok noted.

Graduation balls with accompanying bright stage programs, full of humor, joy, fun surprises, best wishes, and, of course, watching the sunrise, will be held in the Vitebsk region on June 11-12. Traditionally, these events will be organized on the basis of schools and cultural institutions.
