The last bell for graduates of the Vitebsk region will ring on May 30-31, the first deputy head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Leonid Stepanov told a BELTA correspondent. In the concluding academic year, about 9,000 eleventh-graders and 11.7 thousand young men and women receiving a diploma of basic education will leave the walls of their native educational institutions forever. The students will celebrate the end of school on June 10-11. Graduation balls will be organized on the basis of educational institutions and cultural institutions. The programs for the bright celebrations, symbolizing the receipt of the first diploma of education, have been prepared jointly by teachers and graduates. They include a lot of humor, songs, good wishes, and a complete absence of alcoholic beverages, Leonid Stepanov emphasized. And in September, more than 10,000 first-graders will take their places at the vacated desks.
