The last bell will ring in schools of the Vitebsk region on May 29 for 23,000 graduates
May 28, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In the schools of the Vitebsk region, the last bell for this academic year will ring on May 29, Ivan Shchurok, head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent.
10,470 graduates completing secondary school and 12.5 thousand children receiving a certificate of basic education will hear it for the last time. And on July 11-12, former schoolchildren will celebrate the end of school at graduation balls, which will be held on these days in all educational institutions of the Vitebsk region.
"A decision was made to abandon holding these events at restaurants and other food service establishments, as alcohol can be sold there. Meanwhile, alcohol consumption at the prom is unacceptable for both schoolchildren and the teachers celebrating this holiday with them," Ivan Shchurok emphasized. At the same time, a complete refusal of alcohol does not mean the absence of a celebration. Through the joint efforts of students and teachers, the graduation balls will be noisy, fun, and bright. They will become a memorable event in the lives of the children, the head of the education department is confident.
In the autumn, completely young newcomers will take the place of former graduates: about 12 thousand first-graders will come to the schools of the region. At the same time, the large school in the Bilevo microdistrict of the regional center, which will open its doors for the first time, is preparing most actively for their arrival. 10 parallel classes have already been enrolled in the first grade here, and seven in the second. More than 100 teachers will be involved in the upbringing and education of the children. -0-
