The consequences of bad weather are being eliminated in Vitebsk and 4 districts of the region
Gale-force winds that hit the Vitebsk region damaged houses and cars, and felled trees in four districts and the regional center. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The elements affected Chashniki, Gorodok, Vitebsk, Beshenkovichi districts and Vitebsk. Roofs of more than 10 apartment buildings and private houses, 12 agricultural facilities were damaged, numerous trees fell, and 38 passenger cars were damaged. 20 units of emergency rescue equipment and more than 70 personnel of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations units were involved in eliminating the consequences of the bad weather. Other services are also working on site.
According to Vitebskenergo, power outages were recorded in 290 settlements in the region, and restoration work is ongoing.
In Novolukoml, a fallen tree crushed a local resident born in 1973. She was taken to the hospital, and her health is currently not in danger.
