The Chinese Ambassador expressed interest in the project to create a High-Tech Park in Vitebsk

April 2, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Gong Jianwei expressed interest in the project of creating a High-Tech Park in Vitebsk. He announced this to journalists today during a visit to Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, according to a BELTA correspondent. According to the diplomat, during a meeting the day before with the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets and today with the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Viktor Nikolaikin, a number of promising projects were discussed that could be implemented with the participation of Chinese investors. "We also discussed the creation of a High-Tech Park. This is an interesting project and one of the priority areas of activity in Vitebsk," Gong Jianwei said, noting that in his understanding, the Chinese side will help create an effective platform with good conditions that can attract both Chinese investors and leading companies from other countries for further activities. "We will create good conditions, preferences, and they will come to invest themselves," the diplomat emphasized. The ambassador recalled that an important project for the creation of a Chinese-Belarusian industrial park is planned to be implemented in Minsk. Currently, it is in the preparation stage. "The project affects very many areas of economic activity. However, first of all, it is necessary to implement the high-tech project, as it is environmentally friendly and affects the interests of the local population," Gong Jianwei added. In conclusion, the diplomat noted that the goal of his trip to the Vitebsk region was to study opportunities for further promotion of business ties between China and Belarus on a regional basis. "Over 20 years, our countries have established very good political relations. Our cooperation has withstood many challenges during this time in the context of a rapidly changing international environment, and Belarus and China have become true friends. At the same time, it is necessary to seek further opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sphere, as our political relations need a stronger foundation. China and Belarus have great potential opportunities that have not yet been fully realized, and there is work to be done," the ambassador said. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Gong Jianwei is on a three-day working visit to the Vitebsk region. The diplomat's itinerary includes meetings with representatives of the local authorities of Vitebsk and Polotsk, visits to Vitebsk State University, enterprises-residents of the FEZ "Vitebsk", Polotsk Dairy Plant, and participation in a photo exhibition of the People's Republic of China dedicated to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus. -0-
