The play based on the work of Yakub Kolas will be the first production by the artistic director of the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater, Rid Talipov, in his new position. He told a BELTA correspondent about this. Without revealing the title of the work, Rid Talipov admitted that he had always wanted to stage "Symon the Musician" on the Vitebsk stage. "This is a long-held dream," the interlocutor noted. Regarding the theater's repertoire as a whole, Rid Talipov emphasized that it will include the best dramatic works by Belarusian and foreign authors, the issues of which are close to the inner world of today's audience and touch upon the eternal and pressing issues of our lives. At the same time, the list of planned productions will be formed taking into account the opinion of the entire theater company. "I will definitely listen to the wishes and opinions of each artist, only in this way can a new impetus be given to the creative development of the entire troupe," the interlocutor said. Today, Rid Talipov's productions are staged in many theaters in Belarus, Russia, Poland, Slovenia, Austria, and Germany. He is the recipient of top awards at various international theater festivals, and a laureate of the Special Prize of the President of Belarus for high achievements in theatrical art. -0-
