The Postavy Dairy Plant will launch a second casein production line in April
April 1, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. JSC "Postavy Dairy Plant" will launch a second casein production line in April, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent.
The Belarusian-made equipment, costing about Br150 million, will be installed in the reconstructed building of the former boiler house, where construction work is currently being completed. Simultaneously, the installation and setup of the casein line are underway. The capacity of the new equipment is 900 kg of product per shift, while the existing line has a capacity of 600 kg per shift.
The expansion of casein production is linked to the enterprise's development and overall capacity increase, specialists noted. Currently, the plant is undergoing large-scale reconstruction, which will increase the capacity of the whole milk products workshop by 45% to 17.5 thousand tons per year, and expand the range of products, particularly fermented milk products. In the near future, the enterprise plans to begin the reconstruction of the transformer substation, and in the second half of the year, to modernize the wastewater treatment facilities. Investments in the plant's technological re-equipment this year will amount to about Br4 billion.
In January-February, the enterprise produced products worth Br4.4 billion, or 123% compared to the same period last year. It produced 123 tons of cheese (135%), about 2 thousand tons of whole milk products (114%), 78 tons of butter (165%), and 49 tons of casein (134%). The share of exports in the total sales volume is about 50%. In the first two months of 2009, products worth $694 thousand were exported, which is 7.4% more than in January-February of last year.
The enterprise was founded in 1963 and reorganized into a JSC in 1998. It specializes in the production of cheese, whole milk products, and casein, and also produces small quantities of ice cream and mayonnaise, totaling about 40 product names. -0-
