Tax revenues from the gambling business in the Vitebsk region increased by one and a half times in 2009

Tax revenues from the activities of commercial entities in the gambling sector in the Vitebsk region in 2009 increased 1.5 times compared to 2008, amounting to about Br5.1 billion. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region. 34 business entities are engaged in the gambling business, half of them are registered in other regions of Belarus. According to data as of the beginning of the year, there are a total of 1,045 gambling establishments in the region, including 24 bookmaker offices, 13 gaming tables, and 1008 gaming machines. In 2008-2009, the number of gambling establishments in the region increased by almost 3.5 times, mainly due to an increase in the number of gaming machines. -0-
