The demand for personnel in the Vitebsk region's economy in 2015 will increase by 3.9% compared to 2008
November 12, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The total demand for personnel in the economy of the Vitebsk region in 2015 will increase by 3.9% compared to 2008 and will amount to 588.2 thousand people. This was announced today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by Gennady Grebnev, Chairman of the Economics Committee of the Regional Executive Committee, presenting the draft regional comprehensive program "Personnel 2009-2015", according to a BELTA correspondent.
The program draft defines the annual total and additional demand for personnel in the region's economic sectors by education levels and a wide range of qualifications. Taking into account the annual natural outflow of personnel, the total additional demand of the region's socio-economic complex for personnel in the period from 2009 to 2015 will exceed 99 thousand people. To meet this demand, it is planned to attract about 43 thousand graduates to the economy, which will cover 43.4% of the total demand. Of the total number of graduates, 13.2 thousand people with higher education, 8.1 thousand with secondary vocational education, and 21.7 thousand people with vocational-technical education will be required.
Commenting on the program draft at the request of a BELTA correspondent, Gennady Grebnev noted that it was prepared to improve the system of work on forming and effectively using human resources. Since 2004, the region has seen growth in the number of people employed in the economy. With the planned total demand for personnel in the Vitebsk region's economy of 558.7 thousand people in 2008, actual employment reached 566.3 thousand people. In the region, about 60% of the declared vacancies are for workers with vocational-technical education, and 26% are for those with secondary vocational education. The demand for this category of workers is particularly high in consumer services, construction, trade, public catering, housing and communal services, and industry. At the same time, the agro-industrial sector, forestry, communications, and healthcare are in acute need of specialists with higher education.
Today, construction specialists are in demand in the labor market. Among specialists with higher education, doctors, software engineers, and civil engineers remain consistently in short supply. At the same time, the supply of nurses, tailors, office administrators, teachers, economists, and accountants exceeds demand. The existing imbalances have led to the need to revise the personnel program, Gennady Grebnev explained.
The draft regional comprehensive program "Personnel 2009-2015" will be submitted for consideration by the deputies of the regional council. -0-
