The sphere of your activity is connected with the interests of every person. Thanks to your responsible attitude to work, your ability to respond to the problems of people in need of social protection, you have earned authority and respect in society.
The labor and social protection system of the Vitebsk region has been functioning stably and effectively for many years. Currently, it employs over 5.4 thousand people, implementing state policy in the region for employment and social protection of the population, labor payment and protection, pension provision, demographic security, and social partnership.
Various types of pensions are received by 343 thousand people in the Dvina region. Home-based social assistance is provided to over 13 thousand lonely pensioners and disabled people. About 3.5 thousand incapacitated citizens are under state care in stationary social institutions, and the system of territorial centers for social services for the population is developing and improving.
The implementation of measures aimed at improving the quality of life for families with children continues. About 30 thousand citizens received state targeted social assistance in 2012, mainly such support was provided to large and single-parent families.
I am confident that professionalism and perseverance, the ability to work with people will allow us to successfully continue the implementation of state social policy and protect the interests of every person.
