Congratulations from the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
Dear veterans and workers of the agro-industrial complex
of the Vitebsk region!
I congratulate you on your professional holiday – the Day of Agricultural and Food Industry Workers of the Agro-Industrial Complex!
In the agrarian sector of the Vitebsk region's economy, over 57 thousand people are employed. Thanks to your hard work, the Pridvinye region is dynamically developing. In recent years, we have consistently harvested more than 1 million tons of grain, we are the first in the republic to fulfill the state order for grain supplies, and we grow a good harvest of flax and potatoes, vegetables.
Since 2011, 5.6 thousand units of equipment have been delivered to the agricultural organizations of the region. As part of the regional program "Clean Fields", more than 210 thousand hectares of previously inefficiently used agricultural land have been put into crop rotation. The average arable land contour has increased by almost 6 hectares (it was 8.1 hectares, now it is 13.8 hectares). In order to increase soil fertility and crop yields, the application of organic and mineral fertilizers has significantly increased.
From 2011 to 2014, 306 farms were built, reconstructed, modernized, and technically re-equipped for 2.7 trillion rubles. By the end of the year, the commissioning of another 20 dairy farms is planned.
Five years ago, there were 488 farms with bucket milking. Currently, we have almost completely switched to modern equipment (robots, milking parlors, feed dispensers). Indicators for poultry and egg production are noticeably growing.
The meat and dairy processing industry is increasing its volumes. Modernization and technical re-equipment of eight dairy and four meat processing organizations allow products with the Vitebsk brand to be sold to countries of far and near abroad.
The hard work of the villagers ensures the food security of the region and the country. The priorities of the agrarians are to create a modern innovative production base, increase product competitiveness, increase exports, and achieve self-sufficiency of organizations.
We bow low to you, dear veterans and workers of the agro-industrial complex of Vitebsk region, for your effective and selfless work!I wish you health, happiness, well-being, prosperity, and new achievements for the benefit of the Pridvinye region and the Republic of Belarus!
Sincerely,
Alexander Kosinets,
Chairman
of the Vitebsk Regional
Executive Committee
