Nature has endowed you with tenderness and beauty, faith and sensitivity, diligence and optimism. Our entire life rests on these wonderful qualities. Modern women are capable of much. You are distinguished by an active life position, initiative, organizational skills, a high educational and professional level, and a responsible attitude to work. You play an important role in education, healthcare, and cultural development, and are widely represented in legislative and executive authorities. Practical, purposeful, enterprising individuals, including many successful managers and respected business people.
On this day, we express our sincere gratitude to mothers, grandmothers, sisters, wives, colleagues – all the glorious daughters of the Dvina region for the life, love, and tireless care they have given us. You make our world kinder, brighter, and more harmonious, inspiring us to feats and labor achievements.
631 women of the Vitebsk region have been awarded the Order of Motherhood for giving birth to and raising five or more children. In 1987, for a high moral example in strengthening the family and raising children, the Executive Committee established a prize named after Hero of the Soviet Union Zinaida Tusnolobova-Marchenko. 372 women of the Dvina region have been awarded the prize.
We bow low to the participants of the Great Patriotic War, concentration camp prisoners, home front workers, widows, and mothers who lost their husbands and sons who honestly fulfilled their international duty.
