I sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday – Medical Worker's Day!
For the state, there is no higher value than the life and health of citizens. Healthcare workers, dedicating themselves to the noblest cause – caring for people, enjoy special honor and respect in society. You help people gain strength, self-confidence, and make a huge contribution to solving a state-scale task – improving the standard and quality of life of the population. You spend hours at the operating table, are on duty in medical and rehabilitation centers, and are always there where it is difficult, where help is needed. The result of your work has been the improvement of demographic indicators in the region.
Over the past years, significant changes have taken place in the socio-economic sphere in the Vitebsk region, including in healthcare. The task of ensuring the quality of medical care at the level of world standards is being addressed. In 2013, 49 healthcare facilities were commissioned, including 17 institutions in rural areas. The construction of the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, the Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary, and healthcare institutions in Miory, Orsha, and other settlements continues. New equipment is being acquired, and modern high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment are being introduced.
Healthcare in the Dvina region has good potential. Vitebsk medics have always been distinguished by their compassion, humanism, and professionalism. High indicators in the healthcare sector are achieved through the joint work of practicing doctors and staff of the departments of the Vitebsk State Medical University.
I express special gratitude to the veterans of medicine who, having dedicated many years to healthcare, are now retired.
