Congratulations of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee A.N. Kosinets on the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 95th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus

Dear veterans and soldiers of the Armed Forces, residents of the Vitebsk region! I cordially congratulate you on Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 95th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus!

Dear veterans and soldiers of the Armed Forces, residents of the Vitebsk region!

I cordially congratulate you on Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 95th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus!

This holiday is a tribute to all those who, with courage and selflessness, defended our people's right to freedom and the opportunity to be masters of their native land and choose their own destiny.

We are proud of the heroic generation of the Great Patriotic War. Our grandfathers and fathers selflessly defended Moscow and Stalingrad, mercilessly defeated the enemy at the Kursk Bulge, during the liberation of Belarus and Eastern European countries. It was on Belarusian soil, in fierce battles at the walls of the Brest Fortress, near Vitebsk, Orsha, and Mogilev, that the enemy first felt the strength of the Red Army in the initial stage of the war. The feat of partisans and underground fighters who defended the Fatherland's independence in the struggle against fascism will forever remain in the people's memory.

Tens of thousands of our countrymen fell on the battlefield, giving their lives for Victory. We bow our heads low to the memory of those who died for their native land!

The residents of the Dvina region have worthily continued the military traditions of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, honorably fulfilling their military and international duty: loyalty to the interests of the state, high moral qualities, valor, and courage were demonstrated in the mountains and deserts of Afghanistan, and other "hot spots" of the planet.

Faithful to the traditions of the older generations, our contemporaries today reliably guard the native borders in the ranks of the Armed Forces. If necessary, the territorial defense of the Vitebsk region will successfully accomplish the assigned combat missions.

There is no more sacred duty than the defense of the Motherland.

Dear soldiers and veterans of the Armed Forces, residents of the region, I wish you health, happiness, well-being, and success in your service and work!

May there always be a peaceful sky and secure borders for our beloved Fatherland!

Sincerely,                                     A.N. Kosinets,
                                                             Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional
