Congratulation of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee on the Day of the October Revolution

Dear Countrymen!

I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of the October Revolution!

In the Republic of Belarus, November 7 is a public holiday, which testifies to the significance of this date for our society.

The Revolution of 1917 became one of the most significant events of the 20th century, which fundamentally influenced the course of further world history. The liberation of the working people of the Russian Empire and its national outskirts from class exploitation and oppression, the assertion of equality and justice became a vivid example for the world proletariat in the struggle for their rights.

Thanks to the Great October, the Belarusian people gained statehood, created economic and intellectual potential, preserved and enriched their national culture. People gained the right to work, education, rest, and participation in the country's governance. The feeling of being a master, a sense of belonging to the fate of the Fatherland, and the opportunity for creativity in labor caused mass enthusiasm and selflessness, yielding unprecedented production results.

The aspiration for self-determination and independence was preserved by the older generations of Belarusians in the post-revolutionary years, during foreign intervention, the tragic period of the Great Patriotic War, and the most difficult post-Soviet 90s of the last century.

Having chosen a course towards building a sovereign socially oriented state, modern Belarus, in difficult external conditions, is taking consistent steps to ensure peace and stability in society, to raise industry and agriculture to a new level, and to increase national wealth.

The workers of the Pridvinye region are also contributing to the common cause, having ensured a record harvest of agricultural crops in the region's history this year. I am convinced that the Vitebsk region will be able to maintain its course towards positive changes and continue moving forward, towards ensuring a decent standard of living for its people.

I sincerely wish everyone the confidence and optimism necessary to implement the plans for the benefit of every Belarusian family and success in the name of Belarus!
