The almost complete replacement of Russian oil product pipelines should occur in Belarus by 2012
August 6, Minsk / Aleksey Bukchin - BELTA /. The enterprise "Zapadtransefteprodukt" plans to carry out an almost complete replacement of its oil product pipelines running through the territory of Belarus by 2012. This was announced to journalists by the Minister of Emergency Situations of Belarus Enver Bariev, according to a BELTA correspondent.
Two sections of the Russian oil product pipelines "Unecha-Ventspils" and "Unecha-Rovno" run through the territory of the republic.
Regarding the elimination of malfunctions on the "Unecha-Ventspils" oil product pipeline, Enver Bariev stated that the work is being carried out according to plan, in accordance with previously reached agreements. "We have found a flexible, mutually acceptable option for eliminating deficiencies, which allows us to eliminate defects without violating the pipeline owner's agreements on the transportation of diesel fuel to its partners," said Enver Bariev. He added that currently the pressure in the pipeline is the minimum possible for transportation, and after the deficiencies are eliminated, the pressure can be increased.
The minister also reported that the newly appointed General Director of "Zapadtransefteprodukt" is expected to arrive in Belarus in the near future. -0-
