Practice-oriented training and work motivation will help solve the personnel problem in the countryside - Nikolai Sherstnev
"Personnel shortage in agriculture is felt in all areas. But if the situation with managers and specialists of agronomic and engineering services is more or less stable, then in livestock breeding this problem is worsening every year. The staffing of specialists in zootechnical and veterinary services is only 83% and 78% respectively," the head of the region stated.
Attracting highly qualified personnel to rural areas is one of the main tasks of today, emphasized Nikolai Sherstnev. "This can be solved by adjusting the personnel training system and increasing wages," he noted. "The first step to increase the income of agricultural enterprise workers is new approaches to salary calculation in the livestock sector, as well as for machine operators who will be involved in spring field work. Then, the wages of all rural workers will be reviewed step-by-step."
As for personnel training, to improve the quality of education, the duration of industrial practice for students of secondary specialized educational institutions has been increased since this year, and curricula are being revised.
The head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Dmitry Khoma, told reporters that personnel training for rural areas is one of the key topics that specialists of the region's education system are working on. This concerns the adjustment of programs at vocational and higher education institutions that train specialists in the agricultural field.
"We are aimed at expanding the practical component in the training process by at least half. Already now, during the spring field work, future machine operators will undergo industrial practice at the best farms in the region. This will allow the guys to gain the necessary skills, and the enterprises will have the opportunity to look at the students and choose personnel for themselves. The main task is to ensure
agricultural organizations with young promising specialists who see themselves in agriculture and intend to work effectively and conscientiously," emphasized the head of the department. He also reported that agricultural classes will be created in schools in all districts of the region. "The department and education departments are actively working to solve this problem together with district executive committees," said Dmitry Khoma.BELTA.
