The government proposes that banks abandon the institution of suretyship in housing construction lending

November 12, Polotsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Belarusian government is initiating the refusal of the institution of suretyship in housing construction lending by banks. This was stated today by Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky, answering questions from employees of OJSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno", BELTA correspondent reports. The Prime Minister reported that the draft decree has been prepared, agreed with the banking community, and will be submitted to the President of the country in the near future. Guaranteed wages and property collateral should become guarantors of bank loan repayment, Sergei Sidorsky believes. At the same time, he noted that preferential lending will be more widely extended to families with three or more children, and the government is considering the possibility of providing broader benefits for housing construction to such families. "By providing preferential housing loans, the state should receive demographic benefits," Sergei Sidorsky said. -0-
