The government is taking the right steps to stabilize the Belarusian economy - A.Rubinov
June 30, Minsk /Irina Reut - BELTA/. The government is taking the right steps to stabilize the Belarusian economy. This was stated today to journalists on the eve of the final meeting of the 6th session of the Council of the Republic by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Rubinov, BELTA correspondent reports.
"Indeed, we have a difficult situation in the country, prices have risen, and there are problems with currency. However, these failures are in no way related to the flaws of our development system or to the fact that we have chosen the wrong path," Anatoly Rubinov emphasized.
He also noted that over the past 10 years, the Belarusian economy has been actively developing in all directions. The financial failure, in his opinion, occurred because currency expenditures in the country increased, particularly for oil and electricity, while revenue from the sale of Belarusian goods decreased.
"We did not immediately pay attention to these processes at the time, but there is nothing terrible about it," Anatoly Rubinov noted. Similar economic failures happen in all countries.
He emphasized that the Belarusian government is currently doing everything necessary to change the economic situation in the country. "If we were to throw all available currency reserves onto the market, the speculative price would automatically increase, which would hit both enterprises and the population," believes the Chairman of the Council of the Republic.
He also noted that the necessary steps have been outlined to stabilize the exchange rate. According to him, it will be leveled by the end of the year.
"What is happening today is an exam for the people, and we need to unite today," Anatoly Rubinov emphasized. One-time payments will be made to those segments of the population that are in the most difficult situation. Pensions and wages will also be increased at a slow pace.-0-
