The right to lease land for a Ferris wheel was sold at auction in Vitebsk for almost Br120,000.
Three participants showed interest in the lot, but one of them was late for the final registration and, according to the auction terms, was not admitted to participate in the bidding. The winner was determined at the 77th step of the auction, when the sale price exceeded the initial one by almost 44 times. According to his representative, the investor is a member of the republican association of manufacturers and partners of the entertainment industry.
The auction for the sale of land lease rights for the placement of a large-scale entertainment facility is being organized in Vitebsk for the first time. The lot includes a city territory of 600 sq.m on the Alley of Military Glory, which is located near the memorial complex in honor of the Soviet soldiers-liberators, partisans and underground fighters of Vitebsk region on Victory Square. According to the auction terms, the land is transferred for use for 10 years with the possibility of extending the lease agreement. The winner undertakes to pay the cost of the auction item within the next three working days, otherwise they face penalties in the amount of 50 basic units (1 basic unit - Br27), noted the chairman of the auction commission Tatyana Prokopenko.
According to the bidding terms, the Ferris wheel must have a diameter of at least 30 m with closed cabins for at least four people and be equipped with illumination. No more than nine months are allocated for its installation from the date of signing the lease agreement. The rent during the design and installation period of the facility is set at one basic rental unit.
A number of auction conditions concern compliance with industrial safety rules for attractions, including the availability of specially trained personnel for the operation and maintenance of the facility. The operating hours of the attraction are set until 11:00 PM, with musical accompaniment allowed until 9:00 PM. The tenant undertakes to comply with the requirements of sanitary norms, rules and hygienic standards.
