Law enforcement agencies intend to use a helicopter again in the search for the missing boys in Vitebsk
April 1, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Law enforcement agencies in Vitebsk have searched the entire residential area in the microdistrict where two boys, Igor Galimsky and Vlad Yurov, disappeared more than a week ago, said Alexander Chernyavsky, head of the Zheleznodorozhny District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk, to a BELTA correspondent.
"Unfortunately, we have not found a single person who saw children with similar descriptions, but the search does not stop for a minute," the head of the Department of Internal Affairs stated. Police officers continue to search for the boys throughout Vitebsk, in suburban villages and dacha communities, and in forest areas. Given that the children live near the Western Dvina River, two diving teams search the riverbed daily. Currently, they are searching downstream. According to Alexander Chernyavsky, law enforcement officers intend to use a helicopter again to survey the territory from the air.
Announcements about the search for the children are posted all over Vitebsk, and volunteers have also been posting them. Today, many flyers have additions written in marker: "The search continues." A group to search for the children has been created on the social network "VKontakte". Words of sympathy for the unfortunate parents are coming not only from Vitebsk but also from all over Belarus. People from Moscow, Odessa, Riga, and even Vladivostok are aware of the tragedy and try to support the parents.
At the same time, the parents strongly urge volunteers to refrain from independent searches.
As reported, the alert about the disappearance of two children - Igor Galimsky and Vladislav Yurov, born in 2002 and 2003 - was received by the Zheleznodorozhny District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk around 8 p.m. on March 24. According to the parents, the children came from the gymnasium, went for a walk around 3 p.m., and did not return. The entire staff of the Department of Internal Affairs was immediately alerted, then the personnel of the Vitebsk garrison of internal affairs joined the search, and a helicopter reconnaissance of the area was conducted. Information about them was sent to all district police departments and handed over to drivers of regular buses. -0-
