Consumer societies of the Vitebsk regional union of consumer societies exported frozen berries worth $1 million in January-October this year, which is 60% more than in the same period last year. This was announced today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by the chairman of the regional union of consumer societies Alexander Shinkorenko, BELTA correspondent reports. In 10 months, 508 tons of berries were procured, and 427 tons of frozen products were supplied abroad. As Alexander Shinkorenko noted, these results were achieved due to the fact that 16 district consumer societies installed freezers this year and now supply products for export directly under direct contracts, without intermediaries. Alexander Shinkorenko also reported that the volume of agricultural products purchased from the population this year increased by 12.6% and amounted to 52% of the total volume of purchases.
