Trade enterprises of the Vitebsk region received an additional income of Br2 billion at "dacha" fairs.

May 29, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Trade enterprises of the Vitebsk region received an additional income of Br2 billion this year by holding specialized fairs for summer residents, the deputy chairman of the economics committee of the Vitebsk regional executive committee, Zinaida Koroleva, told a BELTA correspondent. Thanks to expanded trade on weekends, gardeners and summer residents were able to purchase garden tools, seeds, saplings, seedlings, mineral fertilizers, building materials, and other goods necessary for maintaining a household plot. Along with "summer resident" fairs, about 800 "weekend" fairs were held in Vitebsk and district centers with the participation of trade and industrial enterprises. This made it possible to additionally involve Br6.6 billion in circulation. Weekly, trade and industrial enterprises began to hold expanded fairs and sales of goods with discounts from 5 to 50% and even at supplier prices. As a result, in April-May, the commodity turnover increased by another Br3.1 billion. As Zinaida Koroleva noted, a set of measures is being implemented in the region aimed at intensifying the trade process, improving forms and methods of trade, reducing inventories, and developing trade infrastructure. In January-April 2009, about 2.5 thousand square meters of retail space were commissioned, and 6 catering facilities were opened. In more than 700 stores, operating hours have been extended, and days off have been canceled. The number of stores operating from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM increased from 120 at the beginning of the year to 157, and those without days off - from 1458 to 1615. According to the economics committee, in January-April of the current year, the retail trade turnover growth rate in the region was 104.8%. According to preliminary estimates, for five months, the commodity turnover will remain at the same level. -0-
