Vitebsk region enterprises have begun mass shipment of grain under state orders
Over 100,000 tons of grain are to be supplied as a state order by the agricultural producers of the Vitebsk region.
Andrei Terentiev, Deputy Director of the Vitebsk Grain Processing Plant, explains the logistics, which are quite complex for an amateur:
— Our Grain Processing Plant is a structural unit of the "Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant" agricultural holding. The latter includes six large pig-breeding complexes with a livestock population of over 83,000. So, in addition to food grain, we also receive feed grain – it is used for the production of compound feeds.
One after another, trucks loaded with grain enter the territory of the grain reception facility. Before giving the green light for unloading, each batch undergoes thorough control in a specialized laboratory. Its head, Elena Ptashok, says:
— The first grain as part of the state order was brought from the Chashniki district. From a few tons a day, we quickly moved on to mass grain reception. This year's harvest is pleasing. The laboratory, like the entire facility, has switched to a round-the-clock schedule. To strengthen the laboratory staff, university students, including those from agricultural universities, have been temporarily hired – this is good practice for them.
Igor Svetlov, the facility engineer, notes with a smile: each harvest season is a busy but very pleasant start for the procurement officers. And at the finish line – full granaries.
Now, with the onset of good weather, there is practically no time for rest. The task is to unload the trucks as quickly as possible, avoiding queues. After all, this equipment is eagerly awaited in the fields and at the threshing floors of the farms.
— The pace of harvesting is accelerating, which means we also need to hurry so as not to become a bottleneck in the overall mechanism, — notes Igor Viktorovich. — Yesterday, we received over a thousand tons of grain in total, including about 800 tons of food grain.
Every day, the river of grain becomes fuller thanks to the many streams flowing into it from the elevators. Among the largest is the grain reception facility of OJSC "Vitebsk Grain Processing Plant", located in the village of Medvedka near Vitebsk. This season, it was one of the first to start receiving food grain.
