Vitebsk region enterprises are poorly working with Belarusian diplomatic missions - A. Kosinets
July 24, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Enterprises of the Vitebsk region are poorly responding to the proposals of Belarusian diplomatic missions to improve the quality of their products, stated the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, at a meeting of the committee today, BELTA correspondent reports.
The governor criticized the Polimir plant, the Vityaz enterprise, the Glubokoye dairy and canned goods plant, and the Orsha flax mill. These economic entities received complaints about their products from foreign partners and did not respond to the business proposals of diplomats. However, this problem also affects many other enterprises in the region. "Enterprises are not carrying out systematic work with Belarusian foreign representations to improve the quality of their products and promote them to new markets," said Alexander Kosinets.
The chairman of the regional executive committee noted that only 11 organizations have their own sales network abroad. Only the Vitebsk meat processing plant, the Glubokoye dairy and canned goods plant, and the Moloko joint-stock company are engaged in further development. However, even these networks mostly operate in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Smolensk, and Kazakhstan. Most enterprises are dependent on dealers.
Alexander Kosinets described the pace of work of public utility enterprises in developing new sales markets as extremely low. There is no export growth to far abroad countries, and the growth rate of supplies to CIS countries is lower than last year.
The Vitebsk region conducts foreign economic activity with 103 countries of the world. Out of 11 CIS countries, there is a positive balance of foreign trade turnover with 8 countries, and out of 92 far abroad countries, there is a positive balance with only 15.
According to the economics committee, in January-May of the current year, the region reduced its exports of goods by 35.5%. At the same time, the foreign trade turnover balance is positive in the amount of $25.9 million. -0-
