Enterprises of the Vitebsk region produced Br11.5 billion worth of industrial products on the day of the subbotnik.

Enterprises of the Vitebsk region produced industrial goods worth Br11.5 billion on the day of the subbotnik, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. 473.8 thousand residents of the region took part in the republican subbotnik: employees of enterprises and organizations, students, public activists, and pensioners. In addition to industrial production, they performed contract work worth Br2.7 billion. In total, the region transferred over Br5 billion to the fund of the republican subbotnik. Volunteers were engaged in the improvement of social facilities and the cleaning of territories. Among the main sites of the subbotnik were the Park of Winners and the "Marko-City" shopping and entertainment center in Vitebsk. In Beshenkovichi district, the Ostrovennaya station of young technicians became the center of main efforts, and in Vitebsk district - the Voronovsky boarding house. Warm sunny weather contributed to the fact that during the subbotnik, utility workers, together with residents, planted almost 2.5 thousand trees and 3.6 thousand shrubs only on the adjacent territories and in the courtyards. The forests of the region also became cleaner: 23 hectares of forest areas near roads, summer cottage settlements, and populated areas were cleared of debris. -0-
