Enterprises of the Vitebsk region implemented 18 projects to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere in the first half of the year

August 20, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Enterprises of the Vitebsk region implemented 18 projects to reduce emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere in the first half of the current year, the chief specialist of the apparatus of the Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Tatyana Yasiulina, told a BELTA correspondent. As a result of the work carried out, harmful emissions will be reduced by 131.7 tons. Among the largest projects currently being implemented by enterprises in the region, Tatyana Yasiulina named the construction of an electrostatic precipitator on firing furnaces at OJSC "Keramzit Gravel Plant of Novolukoml". The joint-stock company has already mastered Br2.4 billion, and two-thirds of the work has been completed. The installation of dust collectors on OJSC "Vitebskdrev" and the replacement of pneumatic transport of dolomite flour with mechanical transport in one of the workshops of OJSC "Dolomit" are ongoing. Meanwhile, Tatyana Yasiulina recalled that in accordance with the new documents that have entered into force, nature users are obliged to submit a project for permissible emission standards. However, only 5% of nature users in the region have developed the necessary projects. -0-
