Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev took part in the winter energy workers' competitions
As explained by Vladimir Diklov, Deputy General Director for Ideological and Social Work of RUP "Vitebskenergo", corporate sports games have been held for several decades. Previously, the Lukomlskaya GRES sports complex was the base, and recently the "Energetik" health resort in Malyye Lettsy began to be used. It was here, in the pine forest on the shore of Lake Shevino, that representatives of 17 divisions of RUP "Vitebskenergo" gathered this time.
– We have timed the current competitions to an important political event – the referendum, on which the draft of the updated Constitution of Belarus will be put forward. Representatives of labor collectives from different regions of the Vitebsk region are not only competing but also exchanging views in an informal setting regarding the amendments and additions to the country's Basic Law, – explained Vladimir Diklov.
The current year is a jubilee year for energy workers, who are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Vitebsk energy system. The January sports games have launched a series of festive events. Plans also include traditional summer competitions, which will be held at the Lukomlskaya GRES, where extensive work is underway to renovate the "Yunost" camp. In particular, it is planned to create an artificial sports field for children.
The winter competitions of energy workers were attended by Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, who noted that he always gladly attends sports competitions.
– People who love sports, lead an active lifestyle, and get a good boost of energy gather here. Energy service workers are people ready at any moment to eliminate complex emergency situations and deal with the consequences of natural disasters. This requires them to constantly be in good physical shape, and such events help them maintain it. The sports bases for energy workers are being transformed year after year, and all conditions are being created for employees to engage in sports and recreation, – emphasized the head of the regional parliamentary group.
The competition program included checkers and chess, darts, shooting, strength exercises, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing. Leaders were determined in each sport, and the team from the "Energosbyt" branch became the winner based on the total number of points. But no one was left empty-handed.
