Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev met with high school students of Ushachi Secondary School
Before the meeting, the students presented their achievements, and the educational institution has many of them. As the school principal, Vitaly Klimashevsky, noted, students annually win awards at various levels of academic subject Olympiads. For five years, they have been absolute winners in the republic in knowledge of biology, the Belarusian language and literature, and German. With funds allocated to the educational institution as a reward for successful performance at the republican Olympiad in biology and chemistry, robotics kits were purchased, and a club for its development was opened.
Schoolchildren with an active civic stance, members of the Youth Chamber under the District Council of Deputies, attended the meeting with the head of the parliamentary group. Its chairperson, ninth-grader Polina Sazonova, spoke about the latest initiatives carried out by young people in the district. One of them, "Please Breathe," is aimed at supporting medical workers. Children draw, embroider, create panels, and present their works to people in white coats. Special attention is paid to volunteer work – assisting people with disabilities and lonely elderly people.
The meeting turned into a heart-to-heart talk. Vladimir Terentyev was interested in what the students planned to do in their adult lives, what professions they were choosing, and whether they planned to return to their hometowns after their studies. One of the questions raised during the conversation was what is lacking in Ushachi to make the urban settlement attractive to young people. Today, a small settlement is in many ways not inferior to a big city. There is a wonderful sports and recreation complex and cultural institutions. Investments and new modern jobs are needed – this is a task for those who are currently sitting at school desks.
– The future of our small homeland, of the country, depends on your knowledge, professional skills, and active life position. I see your intelligent eyes and am confident that a worthy generation is growing up, – the Chairman of the regional council addressed the schoolchildren.
