Chairman of the regional election commission Dmitry Khoma met with media representatives and reported on how the elections are proceeding on the main voting day.
– As of 13:00, when half of the main voting day has passed, we can state that the elections are proceeding in a calm atmosphere. Trade and festive concerts are organized at each polling station. I visited more than 20 polling stations, primarily small ones. I want to say that the public activity is quite high. Voter turnout is gaining momentum, people are coming with good spirits. Just like the commission members are in good spirits, – shared Dmitry Khoma. – No negative moments, emergencies, or gross violations of public order have been recorded at the polling stations.
The chairman of the regional election commission noted the high turnout and civic stance of young people voting for the first time. In particular, by the time of the interview, more than 75% of first-time voters included in the voter lists had come to the polling stations and exercised their right. This is more than 6,500 people.
Traditionally, the rural population shows great activity, particularly in the Beshenkovichi and Gorodok districts.
