Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova visited Naftan OJSC and met with the enterprise's staff
During the conversation, the workers were able to ask questions of interest and learn firsthand about the main directions of state policy in various spheres. The economy's performance, housing issues, wages, transport infrastructure, and electric transport were discussed. The meeting took place in an open and trusting atmosphere.
The speaker emphasized that she is monitoring the progress of the plant's modernization, and the work is nearing completion. As a result, it is planned to increase the depth of oil refining to 90%. The investment program includes the comprehensive development of the enterprise, the creation of new production facilities, and the reconstruction of existing sites. Naftan has already completed the reconstruction of the AT-8 primary oil refining unit.
As noted by the General Director of Naftan OJSC, Alexander Demidov, the plant continues its program for supplying alternative oil. "Today, for the first time, American oil of the Bakken grade of shale origin has arrived. This is the third type of oil processed here for the first time in the last 5-6 months. Initially, Norwegian oil was supplied, then Arab. Diversification of supplies will continue this year," he said. According to specialists, American oil is not inferior to Urals grade oil in its characteristics. Crude oil from the USA has a higher potential for light oil products.
American oil became the 12th tanker delivery this year to Belarus from alternative suppliers. The total volume of tanker deliveries has already exceeded 1 million tons of oil.
