Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev presented certificates of honor and gratitude to law enforcement officers

104 years of service to the law and people. Such an impressive date, even from a historical perspective, would have been impossible without the people who stood at the origins of the police and dedicated their lives to protecting the peace of citizens. Sometimes they did it at the cost of their lives. Therefore, according to tradition, a rally was held at the monument to police officers who died in the line of duty, with the participation of the management of the department, employees, and veterans of the Vitebsk police.

– This is a professional holiday for everyone who has chosen one of the most important and responsible professions: to protect law and order and the peace of citizens. Today, the entire society is going through a difficult period of confronting external and internal challenges and threats. And the security of each individual, as well as the development of Belarus as a state governed by the rule of law as a whole, depends on the results of our work, – said the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs, Andrei Lyubimov, addressing the attendees.

The solemn events moved to the "Vitebsk" concert hall. Here, the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs presented awards to the best employees. Andrei Lyubimov presented letters of gratitude from the Minister of Internal Affairs for raising their children, who are honorably performing their service duty, to the parents of police lieutenant Ekaterina Kovalenko and senior police lieutenant Andrei Ivanov.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, also delivered a welcoming speech. He once again thanked the law enforcement officers for their service, and also presented certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from the regional executive committee and the Council of Deputies. Senior police lieutenant Vadim Ageenko, police captain Nikolai Kiryukovich, police major Andrei Fyodorov, police lieutenant colonel Sergei Berzhanin, and police colonel Vyacheslav Grishchenko were honored with high awards.

After the solemn part, a festive concert awaited all those present in the hall.
