Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev held a reception of citizens at the Orsha Meat Processing Plant

Outreach receptions demonstrate the authorities' interest in solving citizens' problems. This opinion was shared with a BELTA correspondent by Orsha resident Yekaterina Antonenko, who attended a personal outreach reception of citizens held today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, at OJSC "Orsha Meat Canning Plant".

Yekaterina Antonenko approached the governor with a question about salary payments in kind. Employees of the Orsha Meat Canning Plant currently receive about 10% of their salary in products, and they can only shop in stores of one retail chain. "Our city is developing. New stores are opening, there is competition between retail chains. And I can clearly see that the same set of products can be bought cheaper in other stores. I am interested in saving money. I have two children, and there are many expenses. I could, for example, spend the price difference on paying for an extra club," explained Yekaterina Antonenko.

She said that she was pleasantly impressed by the attention and genuine interest from the governor regarding her issue. "One of the solutions proposed was discount cards for our employees. In my opinion, this is a good option," said the woman. "And in general, it is very good that any person can come to a reception and talk about what worries them, about their problems and concerns. It is also important that leaders of such a high rank are genuinely interested in the state of affairs, delve into problems, engage in a meaningful dialogue, and strive to find a solution that would satisfy everyone," the interviewee concluded.

In addition to holding the reception for citizens, the governor also visited the production facilities today and held a meeting on the implementation of new investment projects and the improvement of the meat processing plant's operations.
