The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee visited the ceremonial line-up at the Orsha gymnasium

The First Bell is a special and exciting event. And for the students of Gymnasium No. 1 in Orsha, it was doubly so, as the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, attended the celebration.

– This is a holiday that unites different generations, – the head of the region addressed the attendees. – I want each of you, guys, to understand: the authorities, parents, and teachers have a common desire – to raise worthy people.

Nikolai Sherstnev presented the gymnasium director, Natalia Kokhova, with a gift certificate. The funds will be used to strengthen the material and technical base. The Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, and the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Nikolai Lisovsky, joined the congratulations. A gift from OAO "Gazprom transgaz Belarus" for all first-graders in the district was the "Orsha Primer," published in two languages with a circulation of about 2.5 thousand copies. The Head of the Public Relations Service, Dmitry Kostin, recalled that it was in Orsha 400 years ago that the first primer appeared.

Nikolai Nikolaevich visited the classrooms of Gymnasium No. 1, equipped under the "Virtual School" project, and even felt like a student by sitting at a desk. The governor also highly appreciated the robotics samples created by young inventors from the gymnasium and the IT academy "Kompas."

The head of the region gladly communicated with the first-graders, gave them words of encouragement, and presented the young scholars with gifts from the President – the educational manual "Belarus – Our Motherland."

– The future of our country is in your hands, – emphasized Nikolai Sherstnev. – Therefore, listen to your teachers and parents, absorb knowledge like a sponge. And in the future, we will be able to be proud of you.

During an excursion through one of the best gymnasiums in the region in terms of educational and upbringing activities, Natalia Kokhova said that in its 8 years of existence, the institution has graduated over 200 gold and silver medalists. More than 90% of gymnasium students annually enter universities in Belarus and abroad. Traditionally, students of Gymnasium No. 1

– winners of regional and republican Olympiads. The pride of the institution is the club of young rescuers and firefighters, the KVN team "Excellent Borscht" – a prize-winner of the festival of school league teams.
