More than 70 exhibitors and 30 official business representatives took part in the VIII International Economic Forum and the IX Republican Universal Exhibition Fair "Orsha Traditions," the official closing ceremony of which took place today at the Ice Arena.
The first day of the forum was dedicated to the interaction of partner cities. After the opening ceremony, a presentation of the multimodal industrial and logistics complex "Bremіno-Orsha" was held in the town of Bolbasovo. Directions of cross-border cooperation in the transport and logistics sector were also discussed here.
The exhibition, which showcased products from leading enterprises of the Pridvinye region and sister cities of Russia, was traditionally accompanied by a job fair. It was aimed not only at the unemployed but also at future young specialists – graduates of Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov, Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, colleges, and lyceums of the Orsha district.
The second day of the event was dedicated by the organizers – the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Orsha District Executive Committee – to the topic "Preferences and Advantages in a Competitive Environment."
Panel discussions formed the basis of the business part of the day. Participants discussed special operating conditions within the framework of Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 506 of December 31, 2018, "On the Development of the Orsha District of the Vitebsk Region."
The issue of planning entrepreneurial activities was raised separately. An agreement on cooperation was signed between the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Liepaja Special Economic Zone of the Republic of Latvia.
Export of products, customs clearance for international transportation, and logistics issues were addressed on the third day of the event. The forum program was diversified with sports events and excursions. Guests of the region visited the Orsha Flax Mill and the House of Flax.
