Representatives of business circles of the Vitebsk region and Latvia will discuss joint projects at a business forum in Latgale

April 23, Daugavpils / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Days of the Vitebsk region started today in Latgale. The business forum will last until April 25, the deputy chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's economy committee, Konstantin Cherny, told a BELTA correspondent. Latgale is the eastern part of Latvia, a region bordering the Vitebsk region and traditionally maintaining close contacts with Belarus. It includes six districts with centers in Balvi, Ludza, Rezekne, Preili, Kraslava, and Daugavpils. The Vitebsk delegation is hosted by the second largest and most important city in Latvia - Daugavpils. About 60 enterprises of the region of various forms of ownership, from giants like OJSC "Naftan", "Vityaz" to communal property canneries and small private enterprises, will exhibit their products and participate in a contact and cooperation exchange with the participation of Latvian business circles. Visits to Daugavpils enterprises and the presentation of investment proposals from Vitebsk region enterprises are also planned. The creative potential of the Belarusian region will be presented by about 20 artistic groups, who will give a concert at the Daugavpils Palace of Culture. During the business forum, cooperation agreements will be signed between the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Latgale local government, as well as action plans for cooperation between the administrations of the city of Vitebsk and the administrations of Daugavpils and Rezekne, and between the Braslav, Miory, Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk, and Glubokoye districts and the districts of Latgale. -0-
