Representatives of the Latvian Fire and Rescue Service and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus met in Novopolotsk

The seventh meeting of the Belarusian-Latvian working group on cooperation in the field of disaster prevention, natural disasters and other emergencies, as well as the elimination of their consequences, was recently held in Novopolotsk. The event was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Khudoleev. The working group recognized the decision of the protocol of the sixth meeting as fulfilled and decided to continue bilateral cooperation.

Within the framework of the meeting, a decision was made to implement the opportunity for training Latvian divers-rescuers in Belarus, and to organize seminars and trainings on the territory of both countries to practice skills in conducting diving and rescue operations in fresh and sea waters. Guests were demonstrated modern samples of fire emergency rescue equipment and emergency rescue equipment of the Novopolotsk garrison of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including PASO No. 1 of OJSC "Naftan" and PASO No. 2 of the plant "Polimir". The delegates also got acquainted with the training base of these units.

The next meeting of the working group will be held next year in the territory of the Republic of Latvia.
