Representatives of the Vitebsk region paid an official visit to the Saratov region

Vitebsk and Saratov regions will expand cooperation on joint projects. A delegation from the Vitebsk region, led by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, visited the Saratov region.

At a meeting with its leadership, options for expanding partnerships in various fields were discussed. The Vitebsk region has developed international experience in the production of water treatment equipment, telescopic lifts, fire-fighting vehicles, power and optical cables, finished metal structures, and charging stations for cars. These projects will be offered to Saratov partners for joint cooperation. This includes both sales and joint cooperation.

"We have the best competencies in the republic for such highly liquid products as lubricant additives, veterinary and pharmaceutical preparations, footwear, composite materials from fiberglass, and linen products that can compete in many markets. The regions can be mutually beneficial, complement technological chains, and substitute foreign products. Increasing mutual supplies depends on the depth of cooperation, the demand for which is currently most acutely felt in the country as a whole and in the Vitebsk region in particular. Universities and colleges in the region offer a competitive base for training specialists in medicine, pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicine, design, biotechnology, computer modeling, and engineering," the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee noted.

The Northern region would like to join efforts with its Saratov partners in developing the tourism and health resort industry, including children's tourism, the committee added. In accordance with the government regulations, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee is responsible for developing cooperation between Belarus and the Saratov region of Russia.

"An analysis of the foreign trade results with the Saratov region shows that the set task of ensuring export growth rates to this region is generally being fulfilled for the region as a whole based on the results of 2022, and the positive trend continues in the current year," the specialists explained.

The Vitebsk region supplies the Saratov region with cable products, carpets and floor coverings, building bricks, fiberglass products, as well as medical products, linen fabrics, and electrical measuring instruments. Saratov ships hoists, winches, jacks, palm and sunflower oil, and phosphoric acid salts to the northern region of Belarus.

The Belarusian side was acquainted with the work of Nita-Pharm LLC, which is one of the leaders in the development and production of veterinary pharmaceuticals in Russia. Representatives from Vitebsk visited the production of high-tech equipment for gas supply facilities, oil fields, and power units at Neftegazoborudovanie LLC.

The delegation also visited the Saratov Fat Plant, which ranks first among Russian manufacturers of laundry soap, and the largest holding company in the agro-industrial sector of the Volga region, the White Valley group of companies.

Representatives of the Vitebsk region also took part in a round table on the development of trade and economic cooperation and interregional cooperation between Russia and Belarus. At the end of the working day, an official meeting was held between the Belarusian delegation, headed by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, and the Governor of the Saratov Region Roman Busargin.
