Representatives of the authorities and businesses of Latvia and Russia are interested in cooperation with enterprises of the Lepel district

Representatives of the authorities and business of Aloja Municipality of the Republic of Latvia and Kineshma Municipal District of the Russian Federation have expressed interest in cooperation with Lepel enterprises, having visited the Lepel District.

The guests visited enterprises of both state and private ownership. At KUPP "Borovka", the forestry enterprise, the woodworking enterprise "Radial Trade", and the Lepel Dairy and Canning Plant, they were informed about the potential for cooperation. Both the Russians and the Latvians were impressed by the social facilities – the Center for Social, Labor, Household, and Physical Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons of Lepel District, the House of Crafts, where a weaving master class was organized for them, the "Zhemchuzhina" sanatorium, and the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve.

– I was impressed by the production organization at the dairy and canning plant and the "Lepelka" products, which reminded me of the natural dairy products I ate as a child at my grandmother's in the village. Everything we saw here is very close to us, because our district is also developing industry, agriculture, and tourism, – shared Sergey Gerasimov, head of Kineshma Municipal District of Ivanovo Oblast.

– We are very interested in cooperation with the enterprises of Lepel region, and after visiting the House of Crafts, we saw how much we have in common in culture, – noted Jurgis Racenis, Deputy Chairman of Aloja Municipality of the Republic of Latvia. – We are expecting a delegation from Lepel this summer.

– During this visit, a cooperation agreement was signed with Kineshma Municipal District, where we were invited in June to celebrate the 90th anniversary of its formation. With Aloja Municipality of the Republic of Latvia, such a document was signed in April last year. Further cooperation with both regions is planned in the fields of woodworking and dairy industry, – reported Oksana Tereshkova, Deputy Chairman of the Lepel District Executive Committee.
