Government representatives participated in the celebration of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos

On the eve of the holiday, Archbishop Dmitry of Vitebsk and Orsha performed the All-Night Vigil at the Holy Assumption Cathedral in Vitebsk, and on the day of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, he led the Divine Liturgy.

Representatives of the authorities attended the prayer service that concluded the procession around the Holy Assumption Cathedral, including the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, and the Head of the Department for Religious and National Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee Mikhail Danilenko. Vladimir Vladimirovich congratulated the residents of Vitebsk on the holiday and wished that joy, harmony, and happiness would forever reside in everyone's home.

The head of the regional parliamentary corps also noted that the Vitebsk Diocese, led by Archbishop Dmitry, is doing everything in its power for peace and mutual understanding in our multinational region.

– The revival of the spiritual and moral health of the residents of the Vitebsk region, enlightenment and education, the preservation of the richest historical and cultural heritage are our common tasks, which secular and spiritual authorities are called to solve together, – said Vladimir Terentyev.
