The election campaign for the parliamentary elections in Belarus will start in mid-October

Election campaigning for the parliamentary elections in Belarus will start in mid-October. This was announced to journalists by the chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Lidiya Yarmoshina, at the BELTA press center.

She explained that election campaigning begins after the registration of candidates for deputies. Thus, their nomination ends on October 7, and ten days are allocated for registration. This means that election campaigning will begin after October 17. If a candidate is registered earlier than this deadline, they will be able to start campaigning. "But it will still be mid-October," added the head of the CEC.

Lidiya Yarmoshina shared her expectations for the election campaigning, emphasizing that it depends solely on the candidates for deputies how memorable this stage will be. "If candidates use at least everything that the state gives them for free (speeches in newspapers, on television, participation in televised debates), then this alone will be quite lively," believes the chairperson of the CEC. The elections to the House of Representatives are scheduled for November 17, and to the Council of the Republic - for November 7.
