Presentations of six films by directors from Belarus and Russia will take place at the "Slavianski Bazaar".
July 6, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA/. Presentations of six Belarusian and Russian films will take place during the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," announced Elena Matus, director of the unitary enterprise "Kinovideoprokat" of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, at a press conference today, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Vitebsk residents and city guests will be the first viewers of the Russian drama "Krysha" (Roof), filmed by the head of "Yeralash" Boris Grachevsky. This social drama on the eternal theme of "fathers and children" is his first directorial work in feature films. "He really wanted to attend the premiere, but he won't be able to come due to his busy work schedule," said Elena Matus. The film's music composer, Honored Artist of Russia, artistic director and chief conductor of the Yu. Silantiev Academic Grand Concert Orchestra, Alexander Klevitsky, will represent the picture. The official release of the film "Krysha" is scheduled for September of this year. Another Russian film, the melodrama "Akme," will be presented in Vitebsk by the film's director, Tatyana Yankevich.
The national film studio "Belarusfilm" will present the drama "Kadet" (Cadet), the action film "Snaiper" (Sniper), the psychological drama "Insayt" (Insight), and the children's fairy tale "Novogodniye priklyucheniya v iyule" (New Year's Adventures in July). Almost all of these films, with the exception of "Snaiper," will be shown on the big screen in Vitebsk for the first time.
Numerous surprises from Vitebsk film distributors await film enthusiasts, Elena Matus added. Young viewers and their parents will be greeted by Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) before the screening of "Novogodniye priklyucheniya v iyule." The Christmas tree will be decorated with cornflowers, the symbol of "Slavianski Bazaar." Additionally, the organizers have prepared New Year's gifts. Military personnel will be involved in the presentation of "Snaiper." Vitebsk residents will also meet Ivan Pavlov, one of the directors of "Novogodniye priklyucheniya v iyule," and Boris Gergalov, who plays one of the main roles in "Snaiper."
The film presentations will take place during the Days of Belarus and Russia at "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk." Film screenings will be organized in all three city cinemas, including the country's only specialized children's cinema, "Brigantina." -0-
