The presentation of the Polotsk district brand will take place at the mushroom championship in the village of Dretun

The presentation of the Polotsk district brand will be one of the central events of the district mushroom championship, which will be held for the third time near Polotsk on September 10. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the department of ideological work of the Polotsk District Executive Committee.

Nearly 100 teams of three people each, representing educational, medical, and agricultural institutions, as well as local executive and representative authorities, will gather in the area of the village of Dretun, which bears the unofficial title of the mushroom capital of the Vitebsk region. After preliminary briefing and familiarization with the competition rules, participants will go on a "quiet hunt" which will last exactly three hours. Then, mushroom pickers will have their "catch" weighed, and winners will be determined in several categories depending on the professional affiliation of the team members. The organizers have made sure that there are enough memorable prizes and original gifts for everyone.

The championship has become a good reason to present the developed brand of the Polotsk district "Leshy" (Wood Goblin), which will be publicly presented for the first time. Also, after the "quiet hunt" is over, mushroom pickers will become spectators and participants of a diverse concert program, including a national dish competition and an open meeting of the herbalists' club, during which one can get acquainted with the natural riches of the Polotsk region. According to preliminary estimates, more than 700 guests and participants are expected at the championship in total. -0-
