President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant
The Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant is a leading Belarusian enterprise for the overhaul and modernization of Mi helicopters, equipment and systems of various types of aircraft, and for the maintenance of the Il-76 aircraft.
The head of state familiarized himself with the plant's operations, the types of aircraft currently being repaired at the enterprise, and the construction of a new workshop for the repair of helicopter and aircraft parts and components. According to the plant's General Director Pavel Sluchak, it is planned to be commissioned in 2023.
"This will be a new, modern production facility. This will allow us to minimize all procurement and create new jobs," he noted. "The scale of the project, including equipment, is approximately 32-35 million Belarusian rubles."
According to Pavel Sluchak, the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant currently has no problems with workload. It is sufficient for the plant to operate profitably. "We are fully booked for this year. Our traditional markets are Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America. There are a number of countries with which contracts are in the advanced stages of negotiation, so we are moving forward," added the plant's General Director.
The discussion at the enterprise also touched upon the further development of the Orsha airfield. Previously, these territories belonged to the plant, but later a part was transferred to the ownership of the National Airport Minsk. As reported to the President, the airfield is ready to receive any type of aircraft.
"Everything here will be state-owned," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko. "The plant will be state-owned, it is expanding. The airfield is state-owned. There is nothing to divide here, it is all state-owned."
